Welcome to Alpha Chi (glimpse into foyer)

When one opens the front doors to Alpha Chi, they are greeted, by an warm and open foyer. The foyer received new wood floors in the summer of 2008.  You can see a photo of the old floors vs the new floors below.

Upon entering the foyer one is greeted, by a lovely lyre table (donated by parents club in 2004ish) The table houses a clock from a homecoming win, and often flowers from a local fraternity, or parent.
Above the table is a painting done by Beta Eta alumna artist Vera "Ann" Irvine.

Curb Appeal

As one drives down Park Avenue, on Florida States campus, they are often awe struck at the Sorority Houses lining the street. Nestled in the center of the street, between Tri-Delta and Kappa Alpha Theta sits, the historic Alpha Chi Omega  chapter house.
The house is often displaying banners dropped from the balcony, from celebrating a sisters birthday, to supporting a philanthropy, to welcoming parents, speakers or alumnae- The banners always showcase the good spirit, and sisterhood of the women who occupy the house.
A closer look at the front doors, and you will note one of the recent additions, the Lyre door knockers. They were a gift from the National Housing Corporation to the chapter facility.

Check back next week for a sneak peak inside...

518 Spotlight...

When speaking with Beta Etas, both collegiate and alumnae, one of things nearly all of them will mention is the chapter house. The Beta Eta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega is blessed to call 518 West Park Avenue Home. With that being said, each Wednesday we will begin by taking a glimpse into the chapter facility that so many of us did/have or perhaps may call home....From room spotlights, to historic information, to memories from those who have lived at 518. Be sure to check back..

and of course let us know if you would like to share your favorite housing memory, photos, etc....
